This past week has been kind of crazy!! This past Tuesday I took the kids to the park for mom and tot's day, I was feeling pretty good so I came home and cleaned the house. After being such a busy bee I started to feel pretty awful, and didn't sleep well. The next day I had a Dr. appointment and a non-stress-test, during my test I was having pretty regular contractions but my Dr. didn't seem the least bit worried and he sent me on my way. Rick and I went out to lunch after my appointment (during which I continued to have contractions) then Rick went home to sleep since he had worked all night. I decided I should probably pre-register at the hospital since i was 36 weeks (and having regular contractions). After Rick slept for awhile my mom and Merrie took us all out for Ice cream to celebrate my birthday a day early. (Still having contractions!) After Ice Cream we headed over to target for some birthday shopping which was cut short by my contractions getting stronger. Upon arriving home I decided I should probably pack my hospital bag and a bag for the kids to take to grandma's just in case! Everyone went to bed except myself due to the contractions continuing to get stronger, no matter what they wouldn't stop not even after taking a shower. My mom offered to take me to the hospital to be checked so that Rick could stay with the kids and get some much needed sleep! SO off we went to the hospital, upon arrival I was only 1cm dilated they monitored me for over and hour and nothing changed so they sent me home! (disappointing considering I had been contacting regularly for nearly 24 hours!) After several hours of agony I finally fell asleep. When I woke up I was still contracting but not as badly and not as often. Rick had a work meeting to go to so while he was gone I picked up around the house. Being that it was now my birthday Rick watched the kids so that I could take advantage of a gift from Merrie (a mani/pedi)!!! Later my mom watched the kids so that Rick could take me to dinner, he also got me See's chocolates and took me birthday shopping at the mall. (All day I continued to have contractions but not as strong) By the next morning my contractions were all but gone, except for the occasional braxton hicks a couple times an hour. We had birthday dinner and cake at my parents house Friday night. (We basically celebrated my birthday all week!!)
Saturday morning we woke up and set out on a family adventure!! We loaded up the kids and fishing gear stopped for some snacks and headed out to the river to take the kids fishing for the first time! (Matthew got a fishing pole for Christmas and has been begging to go fishing ever since!) We tried several spots before we found the perfect spot!
My dad even came out to lend a hand, and help in the teaching/baby sitting process!
After about 30 minutes of uneventful fishing Lilly decided it was more fun to sit and eat snacks.
About an hour into the fishing trip Lilly fell into the river. Thankfully the spot we had finally settled on was shallow near the shore and very slow moving!
Matthew too fell in the water about and hour after Lilly!
Lilly completely gave up on fishing and decided to throw rocks in the water instead (and scare all the fish away!)
Matthew really enjoyed fishing!!
More snacking
Matthew really didn't want to leave I think he would have stayed all day if we'd have let him, but I forgot to put sun block on everyone so we were all getting a little pink! We didn't catch anything but we had a really good time, and have decided we are going to try to do something like this a couple times a month!! After we got home everyone took a shower and we went out to have some fish tacos to finish off our fun family adventure!!
