November Has Come and Gone

Now I know that November is not technically over, there are two days left but it might as well be over.  I have fail miserably in the picture taking department for the month of November!! The only pictures I did succeed in getting were some family pictures at our Thanksgiving celebration with my sister and her family.  We had a pretty quiet Thanksgiving this year.  As usual Rick had to work but since his shift didn't start until 6:30pm he was at least able to eat with us this year!!  The food was yummy and we all had an enjoyable time!  We did do some black Friday shopping which was so so.  Mainly we just enjoyed and were thankful for the time we had to spend together!!  Especially with Merrie who flew back from Utah the Tuesday before Thanksgiving!  I don't think my kids wanted to let her out of their sight for a few days.

The Saturday after Thanksgiving we got together with my sister Mandy's family for a turkey celebration!  Rick deep fried a turkey and we had all the other left over fixings!  We also took some much needed family pictures.  (There are still more to be taken at a later date!)

Lilly was not in a picture taking mood at that moment in time!

Rick being silly as usually (but that's one of the reasons I love him so much!)

Matthew was a ham as usual!! I can always count on him for good pictures!!

I even got Lilly to sit still enough to get one decent picture of her!!

I feel bad but with all the hustle and bustle leading up to Thanksgiving I always forget to be thankful.  It isn't until after the holiday passes that I really sit back and take stock of all the many things myself and my family have to be thankful for!!  The list is truly forever long, but I am thankful and I guess that's what matters!

Halloween

Halloween is here!!!  Matthew has been anxiously awaiting this day for over a month!!!  Lilly woke up feeling less than awesome this morning so I kept her in all morning and most of the afternoon to rest.  Rick had to work last night so he slept all morning and afternoon.  Before waking Rick up I dressed the kids up and took them up to my moms house to visit her neighbors before the trick-or-treating madness started.

Just before the bewitching hour began we headed back to our house to wake Rick up so the kids could start trick-or-treating!  Then we hit the pavement around our house!

Matthew was a pro this year!!  he knew exactly what to do!!

Lilly however was unsure in the beginning, she very quickly caught on though and even got brave enough to ask for more candy (and being so cute no one could refuse her)!

A couple hours later after visiting some friends in the area Matthew and Lilly both had full buckets and cranky attitudes, it was definitely time to head home!!

After arriving home the kids were allowed one last piece of candy (thanks to daddy) then it was off to bed!

The next morning we took the kids out to breakfast.  We have had a great October and we are now looking foreword to a wonderful November!!
