Wedding Bells

This past weekend we traveled up north to take part in the joyful marriage of Rick's mom!!  The wedding was absolutely beautiful!!  It took place at the Lake Almanor Country Club.  We had never been to Lake Almanor before, it is truly a beautiful place!!  We absolutely loved it there!! 

 

The car ride was slightly crazy!  Rick worked the night before we left, his shift was scheduled to end at 6:30 but ran late so he was over an hour late getting home.  We loaded up and left as soon as he got home.  Even though he worked all night he drove all the way to Sacramento.  I took over and drove the last leg of the journey. 

 

The day of the big event was quite busy all the girls met up to decorate and prepare for the wedding.  Shortly after putting the finishing touches on the decorations Rick and the kids needed to attend the rehearsal.  After the rehearsal it was time to get ready.  My kids were less than thrilled to get dressed in there special clothes!  Both Matthew and Lilly woke up the morning of the wedding with respiratory problems due to a fire that was burning across the lake.  Matthew was also dealing with altitude sickness.  Needless to say they were less than cooperative!

 

Matthew really just wanted to sit down throughout the whole wedding, Rick had to give him a few pep talks just to get him to walk in with the other little boys.

During the rehearsal it became apparent that Lilly would not walk in by herself, so both of the little girls ended up joining the bridesmaids on their walks in.

 

Rick had the privilege of giving his mom away, which was a very sweet moment for them to share!

Lilly ended up falling asleep on Rick during the ceremony, which was probably the best case scenario!  Matthew seemed to spunk up after the ceremony was over,  he desperately wanted to dance!  He was asking everyone to dance with him!  He danced with both of his cousins, his Grandma, his Aunts, and of course I danced with him!  He was so cute to watch! (Lilly loved dancing too I have several videos of her twirling on the dance floor!)

Before leaving we spent a whole day down at the lake!  They have an amazing swimming area that is perfect for little kids, there were two life guards on duty and tons of toys for kids to play with!

 

 

Rick and I also took Matthew out on the jet skis!  Matthew had mixed reactions, he was really excited but says that next time he wants to go on a big boat.

 

We had a wonderful time celebrating with Rick's mom and we are so happy for her and her husband John!!

New Puppy!

We added a new member to our family this week!  His name is Rvca (Ruca) he is a chiwinnie!!  Everyone absolutely loves him!  Matthew and Lilly want to play with him all the time, and he loves to snuggle!  Now we just have to house break him! 

Hand Foot and Mouth Disease

The day after our 4th celebrations Lilly started acting like she wasn't feeling well, she ran a high fever and refused food and water.  I took her to the Dr. and they told me it was hand foot and mouth disease.  This was our first experience with this nasty virus and I hope it is our last!!  Two days after Lilly fell ill Matthew started showing symptoms.  I took the kids back to the Dr. because bother were refusing food and drink and Lilly was starting to show signs of dehydration (no tears= scary).   

The Dr. gave me a prescription for a much stronger pain killer for them so they would be able to eat, drink and sleep.  Lilly however was quite dehydrated so they sent me over to urgent care so she could receive fluids through an IV.  After many tears while the tried to put the iv in and a long nap while she received her fluids, we were ready to go home.  They left her iv in over night just encase she needed more fluids.  The next day she was doing much better so they removed her it.

    

Both kids were feeling a lot better the blisters in their mouths and throats were clearing up but they both had blisters popping up every where on their hands and feet!

After a few more days everyone was cleared up enough to swim!!  

The next day however Rick started feeling sick. After yet another trip to the Dr, rick was diagnosed with pneumonia.  My mom came and picked the kids up and kept them for a couple of days while I tended to Rick.  They later reduce his diagnosis to acute bronchitis.  The kids were able to come home and everyone has healed up since then!! 

 We were able to get back to normal things like grocery shopping and spending time at Target!

The kids have also taken a great interest in finger painting or in Lilly's cause body painting!

As you can see everyone is all better and enjoying the perks of good health!

4th of July

We had a fun 4th of July!  Rick worked during the day and then was off in the evening.  We spent the day taking pictures and attending a welcome home party for a return missionary friend of ours! Merrie also was home for a few weeks, so we were able to celebrate with her too!! 

After rick got home we had some amazing BBQ, swam, and set off some fire works!!

This was Matthew's first sparkler he was really unsure at first but finally decided he liked it!

These pictures are actually from Memorial Day but they never got posted!  We went to visit the graves of both of my Grandfathers who were both Veterans. 

Matthew is Four!!

Matthew turned four!!  I can't believe how old he is getting!!  This year Matthew asked to have a pirate party.  Matthew has been in love with the Disney Junior show Jake and the Neverland Pirates, so it couldn't just be any pirate party!  As is tradition, my mom made his cake which was super cute! (she always does an amazing job!)

Matthew always wants to have a swimming party, which is ideal because it is usually too hot to do anything else!  We had a day full of family, friends and fun!! 

 Lilly handled the present opening really well!!

Matthew had a wonderful birthday, he has already informed me what kind of party he wants to have next year for his "5" birthday!  A special thanks to my parents for letting us have the party at there house and making the cake, and thank you to everyone who attended the party and helped make Matthew's birthday a special event!!
