Photo Shoot

We have achieved our first photo shoot!  At just over a week old Jackson is so laid back!  He sleeps through the night (6+ hours) and he hardly cries!!  I am so blessed that he sleeps well, otherwise instead of being bright eyed and ambitious I would probably be more zombie like!!

Lilly is getting better at posing for pictures although I still have a hard time getting her to look at the camera!

Matthew absolutely loves his little brother and he loved this idea of using the train tracks in his pictures with Jackson!!

Jackson Levi Davis

The Davis family is now a family of 5!!  Jackson Levi Davis was born April 3, 2013 at about 10:20pm.  He weighed in at 7lbs 15oz and 19 3/4in, our biggest baby!  I started feeling the contractions around 3am, but they were spaced far enough apart that i could sleep in between them.  Rick came home from work just after 6am, at about 7am I could no longer sleep due to the pain, so I got up cleaned the kitchen, did laundry, straitened the house, and took a shower.  I called my mom around 8:30 to come over and stay with the kids so we could go to the hospital and be checked. (Poor Rick hadn't slept since the day before.)  We arrived at the hospital shortly after 9am, they were completely packed, so we were sent to the waiting room until something opened up.  we spent 2 hours in the waiting room, before they finally called us back.  We were then put in a triage bed in the hallway where I labored for another 3 hours. Finally around 3-4pm they finally put me in a room and gave me an epidural!  Things were much better after that, until they broke my water.  Jackson was born just less than an hour after they broke my water.

The next day my Mom and Merrie brought Matthew and Lilly to the hospital to see the baby!  Matthew was very excited!!  Lilly was excited but more reserved.

Matthew wanted to hold him and kiss on him and love him!

Lilly missed her daddy!!

Lilly finally warmed up to him and wanted to hold him.

Our first family pictures!

They discarged us shortly after 7 and we all headed home together!

After we got home Matthew wanted to constantly hold Jackson and help burp him!

So far Jackson has been our most easy going baby!  He sleeps great, hardly cries eats well, all around a great baby!!  We all love him so much and the kids seem to be adjusting really well to having a new baby!!  We couldn't be happier with our new little addition!!!

Easter

Easter was quite the event this year!  I was still extremely pregnant, Rick had to work and Matthew got sick, but we made the most of it!!  The day before Easter while Rick was home we dyed Easter eggs, my Mom and Merrie brought their eggs over to dye too.  The kids had a great time, Lilly actually got to participate this year!

After the kids went to bed I put their Easter baskets out for the Easter bunny to fill, and Rick helped the Easter bunny hide the plastic eggs around the house.  The next morning the kids hunted for eggs before church, I allowed them one piece of candy, which was probably a mistake!  Matthew woke up complaining that he didn't feel well, but after a shower and all the excitement of Easter he seemed to be ok!  We got ready and headed off to church, we had to stop by and pick up Merrie due to car trouble.  As soon as we turned onto my parents street Matthew puked blue vomit (the color of the piece of candy I allowed him to eat) all over his new Easter outfit and the back seat of my car.  I dropped Merrie and Lilly off at church and took Matthew home where he threw up two more times in the front yard.  After eating some crackers, drinking some water and taking some medicine he said he still wanted to go to church so I dressed him in some clean clothes and we headed to church for the second time. (Matthew was very upset he didn't get to wear his new Easter outfit)  I'm not really sure what caused him to get so sick, but he was fine the rest of the day!

After church we went to my parents house for Easter dinner, it was pouring out side so the kids hunted for eggs inside.  We talked to the kids about the true meaning behind Easter, and enjoyed spending a lazy Sunday afternoon together.

Merrie and my Mom made this beautiful princess Easter dress for Lilly, which she absolutely adores!!
